Job Summary
As a key member of the Urban Design and Planning team, you will contribute to the development of project outcomes and coordinate the team to effectively manage the delivery, resourcing and product as agreed with the Director and clients. Projects include Strategic planning, developing regulations frameworks, governance models, master planning for regional projects including planned communities, urban regeneration, mixed-use residential and residential sub-divisions.
Job Duties:
A sound understanding and experience in a multidisciplinary approach to urban and regional planning with a capability to provide technical advice in strategic urban planning projects.
Provide specific technical expertise in land use planning and work within a team of planners, urban designers, landscape architects and engineers to complete land development, master planning, and strategic planning projects.
An ability to lead and structure the clear communication and messaging of deliverables such as reports and presentations.
Coordinate activities of the team prepare to concept, structure and illustrative master plans for planned communities, mixed use residential and resorts, themed entertainment and residential sub-divisions.
An ability to support the Associate Director / Director by preparing and presenting submissions/reports to clients and government authorities for a variety of projects related to urban and regional planning.
Participate in and organise design workshops with clients and the internal design team.
Ability to lead and manage complex technical projects and multi-disciplinary teams to successful conclusions/outcomes on a project-by-project basis.
An understanding and experience with budget, programme and general performance associated with such projects.
Liaise with government agencies and other authorities as may be required regarding development objectives, policies and procedures.
Ensure compliance with the company’s Quality Assurance policies and procedures.
Assist the Associate Director and Director in identification and pursuit of business development opportunities, and growth of the business through new and repeat clients
Prepare proposals and qualification documents in the interest of obtaining new assignments.
Provide business growth / development assistance to senior management as may be required from time to time.
Participate in the successful operation and management of the project team.
Specific Skills Required:
Have excellent written and presentation communication skills.
Experience in being accountable and responsible for key project deliverables.
An ability to liaise and coordinate projects with the Associate Director / Director.
Be a critical thinker with sound analytical skills in order to justify decision making.
A self-motivated and positive team player.
Minimum Requirements
- The ideal candidate should have 8-10 years’ experience in the Urban Planning field; candidates would ideally have worked on government and private sector projects.
Preferred Qualifications
A Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Planning, Design, or Town Planning would be preferred.
Professional Syndicate/society membership would be advantageous.
