As a Principal Engineer, you will work on our next generation ordering platform and applications to create a smooth and easy ordering experience for our customers.

● Guides teams and fosters a culture to create an application that scales.
● Fosters collaboration and knowledge sharing between teams.
● Promotes and guides cross-team initiatives to improve the applications and system.
● Always strives for reduction of complexity by finding simple, pragmatic solutions while
maximizing impact.
● Raises awareness of engineering achievements and challenges to group management.
● Stays close to the competitive technology landscape fosters world-class standards.
● Participates in defining hiring standards for other engineers.
● Inspire other talented engineers in an agile development environment to innovate, implement, and deploy complex mobile applications in a commercial, mission-critical environment for millions of customers.
● Coach junior engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and tech talk sessions.
● Partner with product and other stakeholders, to drive successful solutions.

The following experience is relevant to us:

● 8+ years of experience of building iOS applications.
● Experience building an entire application from scratch and ideally a portfolio of apps featured on the App Store.
● Speak Swift and Objective-C fluently along with another platform or modern language (i.e. Java, Kotlin, Dart, etc.) at intermediate level.
● Proven hands-on experience in designing, building, improving and operating high-performance, highly-available and scalable applications in a fast-growing environment.
● Experience with development, continuous integration, and deployment of large iOS projects.
● Solid experience of building mobile applications in many different architectures.
● Proficient in unit-testing, TDD, BDD/ATDD.
● Respected as a top engineer across teams, deeply specialized experience in one field and able to contribute other mobile platforms (i.e Android, etc.).
● Solves the toughest technical problems.
● Deep understanding of design patterns and best practices.
● Influencer and evangelizer, helps represent Talabat externally to attract talent.
● Takes ownership and responsibility for organizational practices and processes and their
continuous improvement.
● Experience working within Agile practices and strong knowledge of Agile values & principles.
