Fujairah Fort is a fort in the city of Fujairah, United Arab Emirates Considered as the oldest fort in UAE, Fujairah Fort once served as a defensive structure, as well as the residence of the ruling family. It was the only stone building along the Fujairah coast for many centuries. Established in the year 1670, Fujairah Fort reflects the profound past of the region.
The fort is part of a complex with several old houses and a mosque. It is guarded by three round watchtowers and a square watchtower. The watchtowers and main building are connected by the walls, and there is a central hall surrounded by these towers and wall. The building is built of local materials, mostly rocks, gravels, mud, hay and plasters.
